The event was led by our incredible Senior Client Partners, Sarah and Fiona. We were honoured to hear from a powerhouse line-up of female leaders across our region, each one a beacon of inspiration.
The afternoon kicked off with a powerful message from our newly appointed Managing Director, Jeanette Gill. Jeanette outlined the significant progress we’ve made in fostering equity and inclusion within our company and ignited a fire for our future ambitions in this space.
Emma Carey, Managing Partner at MSB Solicitors then opened the floor to Jess Jones, Trainee Solicitor, who delivered an inspiring talk on the firm’s vital legal aid services. From empowering victims of domestic abuse to providing support through the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority, their work is truly making a difference.
Next up was Janine Smith, Director of GM Business Growth Hub, who captivated the audience with her personal story, the source of her inspiration, and the crucial role the Growth Hub plays in driving inclusion. She even shared an International Women’s Day poem written by her daughter – a heart-warming touch!
Monica Mwanje, Managing Director at MM Creative Solutions Limited, brought a unique perspective to the stage. As a woman who came from an immigrant family, her journey to senior leadership resonated deeply.
Agent Academy alumni turned Programme Facilitator, Sana, hosted the ‘Making a Difference / Talent for the Future’ panel, which saw valuable insights from the Academy’s Head of Programmes, Samantha Quinn; Lindsay Inglesby of Rare Studio Liverpool; Rachael Parr of Electricity North West; and Kirstie Simpson of the University of Chester Business School.
We rounded off the afternoon with a brilliantly inspiring talk from Sharon & Afiya Amesu, the amazing mother-daughter duo of She Leads For Legacy, who talked about the importance of ‘radical self-acceptance’ and equity. Their message culminated in a moving rendition of “You Raise Me Up,” a powerful reminder that we rise together by lifting each other.
A heartfelt thank you to all the phenomenal speakers, sponsors, and, of course, the incredible attendees who made this day truly unforgettable.
From all of us, see you next year at IWD Connect ‘25!
