At Agent, International Women’s Day remains an important milestone. Our women have shaped who we are as a business for almost two decades.

For 2025, the theme of International Women’s Day is Accelerate Action, advancing and celebrating women’s equality worldwide. This remains at the forefront of our thinking at Agent, and since we launched in 2006, we have supported our women to be leaders from within. But Paul, our CEO, is continuously pushing for more.  

At Agent and Agent Academy, our sister not-for-profit social enterprise, more than 60% of our Senior Leadership Team are female. We annually consider role responsibilities, job titles and salaries - of all team members - to ensure everyone feels valued. After looking introspectively at our business and industry, our research revealed the largest drop in representation by women follows middle-management level. Agent is determined to support professional development and progression and ensure diverse voices are sat around every table.

We are looking at the wider picture, too. We have introduced paid maternity and paternity leave, supporting both parents following childbirth to reduce the impact a child can have on a career, which traditionally falls on women, while our four-day work week allows more flexible hours and the best possible work-life balance. Paul and I work hard to ensure our team are passionate about their work and career progression. We know if they are, they will continue to create the powerfully good work that drives Agent forward.

Agent Academy is also supporting diverse talent into the creative, digital and technology industries. We invest in future talent programmes and encourage those from non-traditional routes and backgrounds to consider a career in our wonderful sector. Over the last decade, Agent Academy has helped hundreds of women from all walks of life into inspirational, global careers.

Once again, the full Agent team will celebrate International Women’s Day with the many women who fuel our progress. In 2024, for the fifth time, our women organised, hosted and led a powerful, celebratory and forward-thinking International Women’s Day event for over 250 female business leaders, politicians and new talent in Manchester. It was an incredible day.

This year, in line with the theme of Accelerate Action, we wanted to drive real, tangible growth at Agent with the amazing women we are lucky enough to work with. With this in mind, Caroline, our client partner assistant (CPA), has been promoted to Programme Co-Ordinator at Agent Academy, while Sumbal, another CPA, becomes our Partnerships Manager. We are delighted for Caroline and Sumbal and I cannot wait to see what they achieve! As Managing Director, I am so proud of all our Agent women.

Over the next 12 months, we will continue to encourage our entire team to flourish. We are lucky to work in two wonderful environments, across our Liverpool and Manchester studios, where everyone can be the best versions of themselves in a safe, supportive and progressive environment.
