Agent turns 20 with birthday surprise!

We are 20!

It’s our birthday! And not just any birthday - we are 20! Yes, that’s right, two decades of powerfully good work. Time really does fly when you’re having fun, doesn’t it?

While we continue to flourish as an agency, with new office space in Manchester alongside our beloved Liverpool HQ, induction into The Sunday Times Best Places to Work list and B Corp certification, we remain incredibly proud of the achievements that made us, well, us.

So, as a special birthday surprise, we sat down with our CEO and founder, Paul, to take an emotional trip down memory lane and revisit the moments and campaigns that have shaped the course of the last 20 years.

Better by Bus

“This was one of my favourite campaigns! It was a brilliant example of what you can do when you bring people together – we even had Jeanette driving the bus! Every now and again, I see a Better by Bus vehicle driving past, and I always love to see that.”

Net Zero North West

“This was a brilliant piece of work. We launched the regional manifesto for Net Zero North West at the House of Lords. We joined a range of partners, all with a shared ambition of driving forward our region and making it better for generations to come, so we were all really proud of that. Our Head of Comms, Anna, did amazing work in making this happen – well done Anna!”

Tyred

“This campaign takes my breath away every single time. Frances Molloy lost her son, Michael, aged 18 coming home from a music festival, due to a faulty 21-year-old tyre being used on a coach. Frances did incredible work campaigning, rallying and lobbying for long-term policy change, and it took incredible courage. And she did it – we were absolutely proud to be right by her side throughout the campaign, and it will forever go down as the most important piece of work our team, past and present, worked on. We did it for Michael – legends never die. This campaign is testament to that.”

Agent Academy

“When we launched Agent Academy in 2014, we understood young people, regardless of their background, accent, postcode, gender, ethnicity or anything else for that matter, if they wanted to work in our industry, they can, and over more than a decade, we have coached, mentored and inspired thousands into the creative and digital industries.”

All You Read is Love

“If you know me, you know I love books. Christmas can be a time of abundance, but it can also be a time when some people don’t have anything. Rather than buying gifts, in 2020, we wrote to our clients and told them we were going to buy a load of books in their name. All You Read is Love began, and it has snowballed year-on-year. It is absolutely joyful and we love it. The young people who get it book love it too – and that is absolutely what it is all about.”

“That was an amazing trip down memory lane, with many things you forget about when you are busy getting on! If you have been part of making these 20 years happen, thank you very much. It means the world, and it has absolutely been the best 20 years I could possibly have asked for. I am proud of the business we have grown together, the careers we have started and grown, the business community we have built, and the difference we work hard to make. I hope we continue to prove that business can be a real force for good – that you can generate profit without compromising purpose.”
